Its a good feeling to be posting again, even better to be painting again! I missed both but.... visiting Beijing wasn't bad either! Yes, we went to China. And although it was freezing cold, we loved it. As usual, I didn't get any painting down while we were travelling, but I took loads of photos and hope to be able to do some good work from them. Here's my first attempt, a scene in the Forbidden City.
oil on canvas - Öl auf Leinwand - huile sur toile

I like how your shimmering blues play off those great rich Chinese lookin' reds. ;-)
Very nice return.
gorgeous. I love your passageway paintings.
Thank you, A.Decker. Have a nice Sunday!
Thank you, Chris. I love painting them, too, and its a great challenge for values and contrasts etc.
When I saw this painting, I can tell it was from somewhere in Beijing...Very excited to see an artist "view" from my hometown. Looking forward to see more beautiful paintings! Love the colors. It is alwasy very cold in winter staying outside in Beijing.
Lovely..... love the colors.Passing thru could be any kind of metaphor in life....It works as a tourist, or even for our journey
here on earth,
Glad you had a great trip. Sounds wonderful.

Hi Joanna,
How nice to get a comment from someone who actually comes from Beijing! Thanks a lot! I am pleased you like my "Chinese impression".
Dear Nina, Thank you for your kind comment. I thought of the title as a metapher, too - passing through history, passing through as a tourist, passing through time etc.
I am pleased you also read it like that. I enjoyed visiting your blog with all the summerly, fun photos!
Yes, that's what I was going to say ...it has an ethereal quality-almost like they are moving thru time.
